This masterpiece silenced critics and elevated Bush to superstar status. ​ The album featured imaginative pop on one side and progressive, enchanted material on the other, exploring themes of passion, love, mystery, the supernatural, life, and death. It dethroned Madonna to top the UK charts, granting Bush the creative freedom to pursue her artistic vision. ​

In recent years, Running Up That Hill, a classic single from Hounds Of Love, gained renewed attention after its prominent feature in Netflix’s Stranger Things. This introduced Bush to a new generation, leading her to break records and reach UK No.1 in 2022 — almost four decades after the album's release. This resurgence also led to her induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2023. ​
