Ten years since their debut album, this hard rock stoner outfit are still steeped in uncompromising, honest Southern style and substance. Over that time they’ve moved from the local Louisiana bar scene, to sharing stages with the likes of Mothership, to their third full-length – and the seductive riffs, boozy vocals, 90s grunge influences and satisfying guitar solos are very hard to resist. Most recently, they brought in Tommy Buckley (Crowbar, Soilent Green) to rehearse and record drum tracks and also found current live drummer Wade Perkins to add to the mix. Tracks range from melodic, to sludge, to chill, to the rallying, but standouts are the gloriously grooveridden Down On You, the more aggressive Atrophy, the pleasingly cheeky Good Lovin and the super-sticky The Get Down. It’s a funloving ride from a band who know their sweet spot. ■■■■■■■□□□
