Like an alarm raised by one of his silent heroes, hibaud de la Touanne’s 2016 board game debut V-Commandos thrust him straight into the spotlight, receiving a rapturous reception for its tactical and tense stealth gameplay. It wasn’t just players who took notice of the World War II infiltration game, either – de la Touanne soon found himself chatting with his former colleagues at local video game developer Ubisoft Montreal about bringing the studio’s blockbuster historical stealth-action series Assassin’s Creed to the tabletop.
