HEALTH IMPACTED BY LESS THAN 5 HOURS SLEEP PER NIGHT
Research from UniversityCollege London, published in the journal PLOS Medicine, has revealed that getting less than five hours’ sleep per night as you hit middle age may lead to the increased risk of serious disease.
The impact on health of reduced sleep was measured on 7,000 men and women at the ages of 50, 60 and 70, as part of the Whitehall II cohort study (a long-term evaluation of health among civil servants), especially in relation to heart disease, cancer or diabetes.
