Help me buy a… Landscape lens
For broad vistas, an ultra-wide lens helps you see the bigger picture
When you begin to build a camera system, it’s a natural impulse to start by supplementing your standard zoom with a telephoto lens. This will help you cover the distance whenever you need to shoot faraway objects. There’s also an argument for using one in landscape photography, where it can focus the attention on a fairly small area and compress the perspective for creative effect. For most landscape shooting, however, you’re much more likely to need an ultra-wide-angle lens. This will far outstrip your standard zoom for viewing angle, so that you shoehorn much more of a rolling landscape into the image frame.
