Raw, jpeg or HEIF: which is the best format for your shooting needs?
Digital cameras can shoot jpeg and raw files, with recent models also offering HEIF, a compressed but higher-quality format than jpeg. All three are capable of professional results but to make the most of jpeg/HEIF, exposure and white balance must be spot on because the ability to correct bad exposures or wrong colour is limited.
