After a recent trip to Brimham Rocks in Yorkshire, an area of rock formations that were carved during the Ice Age, I started thinking about how I could create rock formations.
My brainwave was to sculpt my own rock formations at home by using a duvet - with a little creative thought, it’s amazing what you can come up with from the simplest of ideas. After some trial and error, I found that portrait-orientated shots were more effective, both from a sense of perspective and for creating depth-of-field by focusing on the background.
