Several years ago, when my adventure with photography began, I knew that what fascinated me the most was landscapes. As I have always lived by the sea, it has become an inspiration for me, and a spectacular subject for photography. It attracted me with its space and various faces of the elements, from the calm surface to the threatening storm waves intensely crashing on the shore. Depending on the season and the weather, the sea can introduce a different energy into the picture.
One of my favourite effects when I photograph the sea is the blurry returning wave. It adds dynamics to the photo and makes the shore covered with a delicate white lace. Camera settings play a major role in creating this effect, especially lengthening the shutter speed to a few seconds. The weather must also be favourable, preferably windy with a lot of wave movement. I wanted the soft light to illuminate the clouds and the jetty, which is why for this photo I went to Sopot, Poland, at sunrise.
