When I first entered the legal industry, if someone had told me that I would one day be encouraging other lesbian lawyers to be proudly out, my body would have moved one way and my hair the other. I was not a likely poster child for lesbian visibility.
I remember attending my firm’s Pride lunch, under the guise of being an ally. Yet, even before the first course was served, I sprinted back to my desk, dramatically ripping off my rainbow lanyard, before discarding it in a potted plant.
