Not more than two weeks before my university interviews, I sat down in an uncomfortable, green, plastic chair in my sixth form common room and opened The Confessions Of Frannie Langton by Sara Collins. I planned on reading just a couple of chapters before heading home. I sat there until 7pm. That overused phrase, “I couldn’t put it down”, had never rang truer. I was hooked.
