I cannot be arsed coming out every day
Is there any logic in when we do and don’t decide to come out? ASKS JESSICA FOSTEKEW
I’ve begun really noticing the times where I do and don’t explain my sexuality. I’m a 40-year-old parent and comedian whose life resembles a kind of Travel Man/Motherland spin-off. I don’t have time for more conflict than exists already just by virtue of how full and complicated life is. But there’s also elements of cowardice, prejudice, laziness and privilege in when I do choose to get into a conversation about my lack of straightness. And sometimes a complete lack of logic.
