Game Boy Camera Gallery: Mystery Show

The Game Boy Camera remains one of the great videogame follies: the kind of idea that makes no sense whatsoever and yet is somehow strangely essential. Over the years it has retained its curious allure, such that Scratching Post Studio has now created a new iteration of its Game Boy Camera Gallery – effectively an interactive exhibition of photos taken with the hardware. The latest situates its imagery within a haunted house, which feels wholly fitting: the grainy results always had an inherently cursed quality, after all. As you study them, though, you’ll find yourself in a ghostly point-andclick adventure, as a spectral presence makes itself known and your inquisitive reporter begins to investigate. It’s gently spooky rather than scary, but, like the hardware it’s based on, rather charming with it.
