Those of us who crave food after exercise will surely agree that dungeon crawling must be hungry work. And that must be doubly true for zombies, which spawn with a craving for fleshy sustenance. Yet in Majaja’s side-scrolling action-RPG, grub doesn’t simply refill the health meter of your cadaverous protagonist; rather, you arm what you eat. The parts of creatures and sentient foodstuffs defeated at the tip of your sword (or spear, dagger, axe or magical staff) that aren’t immediately edible can be repurposed into weapons, shields and more. Others, meanwhile, are flambéed at conveniently placed stoves to provide a variety of buffs. A seafood broth might generate a wave that inflicts extra damage.Or you might discover a recipe that surrounds you with a noxious cloud to send your opponents reeling – well, there are some downsides to a fibre-rich diet.
