WHY WE’RE HYPED FOR THE RETURN OF BOB ODENKIRK’S ONE-MAN ARMY
Hutch Mansell (Bob Odenkirk) squares up to a new enemy.
ITS STAKES ARE HIGHER
In Ilya Naishuller’s 2021 action drama Nobody, former government assassin Hutch (Bob Odenkirk) got very back in touch with his violent side. The sequel, for which Timo Tjahjanto takes the directing baton from Naishuller, has Hutch returning to duty full-time. But that may have a negative effect on his personal life. “This film is more about the juggle between being a family man [and] being tested on how much he is willing to push himself as a hitman,” says Tjahjanto. This is compounded further by Hutch being a sometimes unintentional chaos merchant. “He’s coming to terms [with the fact] that wherever he goes, trouble finds him. In a sense, he’s still paying for his sins that he did in the first film. But that’ll take us into a different territory later in the movie.”
