Fungal zombie beasts of the night: A Bloater and a Clicker.
Given the show is predicated on most of humanity being transformed into hideous mushroom zombies, The Last Of Us is surprisingly coy when it comes to showcasing its central threat. Aside from a tense encounter with the eyeless ‘Clickers’ in Episode 2, the infected enjoy a subtle, quite subdued presence throughout the show. That is except for Episode 5, when the bowels of hell tear open, vomiting forth a screeching horde in the series’ most elaborate action set-piece.
