A LONG GOODBYE
October 2025 FlyPast reflects on the final flying season of Avro Vulcan XH558 a decade ago now, and delves deeper in the regular ‘Classics’ section, looking back at the history of the famous delta type. Certainly, the word ‘iconic’ is overused in many walks of life, but there’s no denying that the Vulcan – and particularly XH558 – was genuinely an icon. We celebrate its legacy ten years after that poignant farewell.
