Why rest your pride and joy on cheap tat...
With the work undertaken in the workshop, we're always using paddock stands and I got into a chat yesterday with a customer who had some bad experiences namely dropping his pride and joy. Some stands are designed by Stevie Wonder, made of balsa wood and have a completely incorrect pivot ratio, therefore you have to put too much effort into putting the bike on the stand. Not long enough, lifting the bike too high, it's all about getting stands that hold the bike at an equal height, front and rear. The best, safest, most secure front stand is the under-yoke one, although some bikes (like most Ducatis) don't have holes in the lower yoke as their stems are pressed from the top. For everything else, this gets my nod.
Having cheap shit isn't going to necessarily cause any harm.
