INTRODUCES HER LITTLE STAR – ROSE

Katherine Kelly is known for delivering some top-class roles in TV dramas but it is off screen that the popular actress has created some of the biggest surprises of her life, not least when she amazed friends and family with her secret wedding in Las Vegas four years ago.

Today, the 37-year-old star of ITV’s Mr Selfridge, Happy Valley and The Guilty has another big revelation to share. Three months ago she became a mum for a second time when she gave birth to a baby girl, whom she and husband Ryan Clark have named Rose.

As Katherine gently cradles her sleeping baby, Ryan and the couple’s two-year-old daughter Orla pose alongside for the family’s first photoshoot to announce their surprise news.

“We didn’t go out of our way to keep it a secret but we didn’t announce the pregnancy, so people were not immediately on bump watch,” says Katherine. “It’s been wonderful to have this precious time just for us.”

Even so, it’s remarkable that the former Coronation Street actress has enjoyed not only her pregnancy in total privacy but also the first months of little Rose’s life.

“Kate is private with her personal life at the best of times,” says 36-year-old digital analyst Ryan. “We tend to keep things off social media so we only told family and close friends.”

Not surprisingly, there have been some who have been blown away by the news.

“We’ve bumped into some of our friends more recently who have said, ‘Oh goodness, we had no idea,’” says Ryan.
