Miel de Botton believes in the power of music. “I’ve always felt you can support your immunity by singing, dancing and seeking out laughter”, the singersongwriter sister of philosopher Alain tells HELLO! in an exclusive interview. “If you can let the music in and allow it to make you feel good, it can have all these wonderful effects on the body, like increasing antibodies and lowering cortisol. It’s fascinating to read about the evidence for it in medical journals.”
If ever there was the opportunity for a positive sing-along, it is Miel’s new single The Immunity Song. It is upbeat and full of positive affirmations such as: “I am strong”, and: “I am well.” The 52-year-old Swiss-born singer was inspired to write it during lockdown and she hopes it will be a ray of sunshine during these uncertain times. The reggae-style track, cowritten and produced by Andy Wright and Sam Swallow, who have worked with Simply Red, Lewis Capaldi and The 1975, is a change from her romantic chanson-inspired melodies.
