POP ROYALTY SHARES CHILDHOOD MEMORIES AND TELLS WHY CHRISTMAS IS A DOUBLE CELEBRATION

Today she is a “proud mama” to her two daughters, successful singer Lola and top model and artist Tali, but it is her own childhood that Annie Lennox has been reliving most recently.
From the home she shares with her husband, Dr Mitch Besser, in Los Angeles, the multi-awardwinning singer and songwriter, who has sold more than 83 million albums and won eight Brit Awards, four Grammys and a Golden Globe, can still recall the cold, bleak winters growing up in Aberdeen.
“I remember walking to school in deep snow and looking at Christmas trees in people’s windows, with the colours of the fairy lights,” says Annie, who also has memories of being in “crocodile lines, two by two, up the street to the church”. She recalls: “When the doors opened, everyone filed inside. It was the most exciting experience because the whole school was there, and everything was lit so beautifully with the Christmas tree as the centrepiece.”
