If there is one thing that sums up just how far Guy Sebastian has come in his career, it’s this house. The breathtakingly modern home occupies a large plot of land right near the beach in a beautiful suburb of Sydney.
The pop superstar has long been one of Down Under’s biggest music stars. He is the only Australian male to have had six No. 1 singles in his native country and has released a string of platinum-selling albums since shooting to fame as the first winner of Australian Idol in 2003. And that incredible success has helped him build his dream home.
As Guy takes hello! on a virtual tour of his beautiful abode, he proudly shows how he can see Bondi Beach from one of the vast windows at the top of the house, before humbly discussing how he can’t get over the fact that he and wife Jules – along with their sons Hudson, eight, and six-year-old Archer – live in a property that contains a purpose-built recording studio, tennis court, pool and Jacuzzi, as well as a stunning threestorey-high entrance hall, which features a grand piano at its centre.
Music star Guy has built his dream home with wife Jules (above far left) in the Sydney beach suburb of Maroubra thanks to an incredible career that has seen him top the charts and become a judge on The Voice Australia, joining Kelly Rowland, Boy George and Delta Goodrem (all below)
‘This house represents everything I have worked so hard for in the last two decades’
“I am not just saying it, but literally there is barely a day where Jules and I don’t look at this house and say: ‘Who are we? What is this life like?’
“I feel like this house represents everything I have worked so hard for in the last two decades. It’s hard to find a central symbol that represents it all, but to me this house is it.”
FINDING HIS VOICE
Along with his incredible recording career, Guy has toured the world and established himself as a popular judge on The Voice and The X Factor Australia. He even performed in front of the Queen at the opening of the 2011 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Perth with a song he had written especially for the event. He tells us: “Afterwards I met her and she said to me: ‘Oh what a lovely song.’ It was definitely a moment.”
