‘She’s a dream. She’s the smiliest, most content little person. An absolute joy’
Welcoming a baby into the world during a pandemic wouldn’t be the ideal scenario for most parents. But for Jade Holland Cooper and husband Julian Dunkerton, lockdown has given them the gift of time to bond with their newborn daughter, Saphaïa Isabella – a rare asset for the entrepreneurial power couple.
“It was perfect timing. If it hadn’t been for Covid, there’d have been so many people here every five minutes coming to see her,” Jade, 34, owner of the luxury lifestyle brand Holland Cooper, tells hello! in our exclusive interview.
“As a new mum, it’s important to have time as a family to bed in. Having that solely with her has been magical.”
“I’ve been working from home,” adds Julian, the multimillionaire founder of global clothing empire Superdry, “which gives me an opportunity in between Zoom calls and meetings to see Jade and Saphaïa, which is wonderful. I feel incredibly fortunate.”
It helps that their daughter, who arrived on 24 November last year weighing a respectable 7lb 9oz – “She’s a real guzzler,” says her mum – is such an easy-going baby.
