The entertainer tells why she’s inspired by those who march to the beat of their own drum and how her determination led to a dazzling career

She’s famous for her straight talking and fierce but fair attitude as a judge on the reality show RuPaul’s Drag Race. Now, as she gets up close and personal with a dazzling array of divas on her new podcast, Michelle Visage’s Rule Breakers, the US-born TV and radio host tells hello! that she ripped up the rule book to carve her own path.

“Rules are meant to be broken. I was never handed anything in life and many people didn’t believe in me. The only ones who did were my parents, who always told me I was a superstar. You need tenacity to make it and that’s what my show Rule Breakers is about,” says Michelle, whose A-list guests include actors Cameron Diaz and Billy Porter, singer Jessie J, queen of burlesque Dita von Teese, comedian Dawn French and presenter Alan Carr.
