Barbie doll marks anniversary
Singer Tina Tuner has been celebrated with a Barbie doll to mark the 40th anniversary of her Grammy-winning hit What’s Love Got to Do with It?.
Toymaker Mattel’s limitededition doll, priced at £61, is inspired by the star’s appearance in the video for the song and wears a black minidress, denim jacket and black high heels, as well as having her signature spiky hairstyle and a microphone. It has already sold out on the Mattel Creations website.
Tina, 82, joins fellow singers including Cher, Barbra Streisand and Debbie Harry in being immortalised with Barbies.
“I am honoured to welcome my Barbie into the group of trailblazing women already represented and introduce more kids to my journey,” she said.
