The TV journalist and former Strictly star is making headlines of his own with his book hailing the inspirational ‘humble heroes’ among us

There were times when Dan Walker was writing his latest that he had to step away and take a deep breath. The popular TV presenter, journalist and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant had spent several months talking to “humble heroes” – people who have been galvanised after loss or hardship to help or inspire others – and he became too invested in their stories.
“Some of the chapters were emotionally draining to write,” he tells HELLO!. “I was like: ‘I can’t think about any other chapter.’ I needed to cogitate and work my way through.”
