It has always been the highlight of their summer calendar, but Royal Ascot took on a special significance for the royal family last week, when they were reunited following the most difficult of times.
The King and Queen looked thrilled to be joined by their relatives at the Berkshire racecourse, and the extended family appeared more united than ever as they let their hair down together for the first time in months.
