I bought a blank canvas for a fresh start
In need of a new beginning, Nova Williams moved into an empty apartment and set about transforming it into a festival of colour
‘The Abingdon sofa from Made.com is my best investment, purely because of its versatility,’ Nova enthuses. ‘The misty grey shade works well with all the colours, it’s very hard-wearing and the chaise is interchangeable so can be on the left or right’
Good idea
Like Nova, choose a sofa with a moveable chaise for versatility
Living room
‘Because I’m so into colour, it was always important for my living space to be popping with lots of it. I like pairing warm and sugary sorbet shades like pinks and yellows, which I balance out with turquoise and lime greens. On top of this, I’ve brought in the natural greens of the plants, which work very harmoniously with it all and make the room really come alive.’
‘Decorating my home has made me realise that I’m more emotionally affected by colour than I ever thought before’
Welcome to my home
A bit about me I’m Nova Williams and I live in quiet and leafy Wanstead, London.
Where I live My home is a twobed, two-bath modern apartment.
What I wanted to change The building was built in 2008 and it didn’t need any major changes, but lacked any sort of character or personality.
How I made it my own Colour, colour, colour! That has always been my way of making my mark everywhere I go... Just add colour, stylishly.
My favourite part The living room is my favourite space because it has a window seat. It’s perfect for just about anything, from having breakfast, reading or having a little snooze, to just watching people come and go. Best of all, it’s a fabulous sun-trap!
