Logic’s piano roll editor is an absolute tour de force when it comes to programming MIDI parts, but editing MIDI notes by hand, one at a time, can be a somewhat time-consuming process. For instance, what if you’ve recorded a part using your MIDI keyboard and want to find a way to quickly join all the notes up together? This is known as legato playing, where the notes all flow smoothly into one another without gaps in between, and is typically used for string and pad parts. To avoid having to change all the note lengths individually by hand, Logic has a timesaving feature known as Force Legato that can close up the gaps for you in the blink of an eye.
