There was a time when scanning a document always meant using a large flatbed scanner – hardly handy when you were out and about and wanted to scan a document on the fly. With the incorporation of cameras into our smartphones, people began taking photos of documents instead. Then scanning apps emerged which cleaned up documents and made them more readable.
