Gigabyte M27U

VERSATILE Flexibility meets reliability in an unassuming design

RATING ★★★★☆

The Gigabyte M27U doesn’t look like much at first glance, but that means you can make it your own. With a wealth of connectivity options and fast responsiveness, it was perhaps designed for gamers, but it’s strong enough for work and entertainment too.

The M27U opts for a simple but sleek design, with a narrow frame that will fit smoothly into an existing setup. There are no bells and whistles in terms of aesthetics, but that helps the monitor do what it sets out to do: be a versatile option. You’ll need a wide desk to use it in a multi-screen setup though, as the stand takes up more room than you’d expect you’d need for a relatively lightweight monitor.

When it comes to performance, the M27U is an impressive allrounder, capable of displaying 99.3% of sRGB, 92.4% of P3 and 88.3% of AdobeRGB. But those numbers could be higher, and there are certainly issues with colour contrast that make viewing dark scenes or pictures tricky. For video or image editors who work with light or bright images, you likely won’t encounter too many issues.

The host of connectivity options at hand include two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort, four USB ports and a single USB-Cport.
