Maggie Nolan in Goldfinger
Dear Allan,
Thank you for answering my query in issue 70. I particularly enjoyed MJ Simpson’s profile of Aubrey Morris in issue 71. I always find myself with a smile on my face when this eccentric actor appears on screen. MJ says he regrets not having an opportunity to interview him, but if it’s any consolation, I can contribute the info that there is a very nice interview with the great man in Steve Puchalski’s Shock Cinema magazine, issue 40 (2011), if he doesn’t already know this, of course.
Another person whom I think deserves a feature is the fabulous Margaret Nolan, who I remember appearing in episodes of Danger Man and the “squabbling siblings pickle factory” sitcom, Nearest and Dearest. She was also in Steptoe and Son and six Carry On films as well as James Bond’s Goldfinger and quite a few other noteworthy productions. She was often cast as dim bulb, but in her personal life she was very political, apparently. She passed away in 2020, so there is my vote. Thank you and your contributors for a truly marvellous magazine.

Thanks Martin, it seems that Maggie Nolan has quite a few fans out there, as you will read in the following letter, so a feature on her is sure to be on our upcoming list!
Dear Allan,
I was reading through the new issue of Infinity magazine, and noticed in the 50th Anniversary review of The Man With The Golden Gun’ that it mentioning the première of the film when it was first shown on ITV in 1980. As I’m a collector of old TV showings of films, I thought you and your readers might like to see a holding still of the film that was shown on Christmas Day in 1984. I also recently found a special piece of artwork that was published in the TV Times as well.
