Illustration: Kevin Coward

If you steal seven crows you get away with murder, so no wonder it’s a lucky number for some. And it’s going to be even luckier for horror fans on November 23rd when you can join us for DarkFest 7 and scratch that 7-year itch mingling with fellow fiends and some top horror celebrities while watching a great line-up of horror classics on the big screen. The venue as always is London’s magnificent Genesis Cinema in Whitechapel, a stone’s thrown from where gals who met Jack the Ripper first experienced stabbing pains. Why didn’t the Police catch him? Because they’re a rock band, not detectives, silly! Anyway, we’ve got a great line-up for you so let’s follow Jack’s example and go through it bit by bit.

First of all we are delighted to be welcoming Adrienne King, star of the original Friday the 13th (1980) which we will also be screening. And artist legend Rick Melton will be there too. I know - into every life a little rain must fall.

As those of you who have joined us before already know, DarkFest is about so much more than watching great films on the big screen and rubbing shoulders with legendar y genre celebrities. It’s also a wonder ful social gathering of like-minded folk, many of whom seem to send most of the day chatting happily in the bar rather than watching the films. If you’re one of them we’ll happily join you for a livener or two!

And when you’re not chin-wagging or watching a movie you can browse the dealer tables selling film memorabilia, DVDs, Blu-rays, stills, posters and monstrous model kits.

You can also buy copies of two brand new Dark Side books: In the Mouth of Madness: The Films of John Carpenter and Dead Scary: The Dark Side Zombie Guide.
