ONE OF THE most frustrating things about not being able to see is that it can be very difficult to find things. Like most blind people, I have developed routines and habits so that I always put things in the same place. However, with other people living in the house, things do get moved and you can often hear me issuing such refrains as, “Who moved my toothpaste?” or “Where is the washing up liquid?” or “Who’s hidden the f***ing TV remote?”

That’s just around the house where it is relatively easy to keep track of things, but locating your belongings when you are travelling or in unfamiliar places can be even more frustrating.
