IN A RECENT article, I wrote about my favourite Orientation apps, so it makes sense to mention the next stage. Like everyone else, visually impaired people (VIPs) need to find their way around, so using Sat Nav apps is often essential.

Everyone will be familiar with Google Maps. I use it myself, usually when my wife is driving to an unfamiliar location. As she’s a bit of a technophobe, I’ll use my phone to start up Google Maps to give us directions. I also like to use it when on a long journey even if we know where we are going as it allows me to keep track of progress. I often have it running in conjunction with an Orientation app such as Voice Vista, so I’m always aware of where we are.
