IDENTITY CRISIS
Oscar Wilde is one of the most important figures in gay history and now you have another chance to see his final play, The Importance of Being Earnest. In case you’ve forgotten —- and we “don’t approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance”— the play focuses on the confusion caused by mistaken identities. The Original Theatre Company’s production of the classic is embarking on a tour of 13 UK cities from late January until late April — 123 years after its debut. West End star Kerry Ellis (Wicked, We Will Rock You) will be taking on the role of Gwendolen, whose affections are sought by Jack Worthing, but whose formidable mother, Lady Bracknell, must first be convinced of his suitability.
