I HATE TO KICK OFF WITH A REPROACH but I can’t help feeling that we have a bad habit of dropping the ball when it comes to gay women making incredible music.

Sure, plenty of people love St. Vincent (not least her girlfriend Cara Delevingne) but generally when it comes to squealing endorsements, have we perhaps spent more time in the past decade cooing over a ragbag of former reality TV contestants who never got passed a first single than we have the more interesting and varied array of homosexual musical women out there?

Never mind though, because in the past few months the band on everybody’s lips has been Nimmo.
