In the early 20th century, Edward VII referred to Cartier as the “jeweller of kings and the king of jewellers,” and he wasn’t wrong if the Panthère de Cartier is anything to go by. This version of the popular model, first seen in the 1980s, has an 18-carat yellow gold bracelet and case, and measures 27mm x 37mm with a 6mm-thick crown that’s set with a blue sapphire and silvered dial. The blue steel, sword-shaped hands make it even flashier, and it’s water-resistant to a depth 30m (98ft). If yellow gold doesn’t take your fancy, the Panthère is available in various metals and sizes, with a range of embellishments available — a white gold and diamond “panther spot” model will set you back a cool £121k. Talk about “regal”. Price: £19,800.
