This isn’t my first appearance in Attitude magazine. That took place two decades ago while Stonewall and an organisation called Rank Outsiders, of which I was chairman, were running the campaign for lesbians and gay men to be allowed to serve openly in the British military. In the end, we took the government to the European Court of Human Rights and won in 2000.
