Clarisa Borunda-Bee
Shashi Fonseka, a cake artist from Sri Lanka and living in Dubai, hosted a collaboration, called Awareness of Climate Change and Wild Conservation by Sugar Artists, to raise awareness on the topic via Facebook, bringing 18 cake artists from around the world together with their own interpretations of this concept. Shashi said “The purpose was to spread awareness and start a conversation, with a creative approach using our medium, which is sugar, to express our message to people.” It was a creative endeavor to not only bring people together, but to bring sensitivity to a subject that means a lot to a lot of people. The cake artists involved came up with some incredible ideas!
