DANZA&DANZA International Magazine January / February Edizione posteriore

As is our tradition, in this first issue of the new year we announce our D&D Awards. The winners are decided through a discussion among the magazine’s critics: a collective reflection on the artists, the shows we’ve seen and reviewed across our entire group of journalists and experts, and the cultural phenomena that we at DANZA&DANZA followed closely from January to December 2024, in keeping with the ‘activistic’ aspect of our work as professional dance-watchers.
The cover story is dedicated to Friedemenn Vogel, among the awardees of the year and an artist always ready for new challenges. Then a feature about the relationship between dance and surrealism in the past as well as in the current scene; we review major debuts from Italy and around the world; we meet the lighting designer Fabiana Piccioli and the choreographer Francesco Annarumma.
