Gangers Paradise

Almost People are people – so why should it be, the team wonders, that humans and Gangers get along so awfully?

The “horrid” mound of discarded Flesh.

The Rebel Flesh – the first part of this story – went down well. Now, having paused for breath, the team is ready to press on with the concluding episode. Michael, who claimed that this story had been sparking his “fanboy pleasure circuits”, is delighted with the opening scenes.

“All the Doctor quotes! Even a bit of Tom Baker!” he beams as the doppelganger Doctor, revealed at the end of the last episode, tries to assimilate 11 lifetimes’ worth of memories.

(Don’t get ahead of yourself – even the Ganger Doctor prefers to forget the War Doctor.) “That’s a neat idea”, marvels Chris. “He’d be freaking out, hearing all of those voices in his head.”

As you may recall from last issue, the Doctor, Amy and Rory have arrived on an island, where they’ve met Foreman Cleaves and her team – Jimmy, Buzzer, Dicken and Jennifer – who use disposable replicas of themselves, known as ‘Gangers’, to mine acid. Unfortunately, a solar storm has caused their duplicates to become self-aware…and they’re not happy about how they’ve been treated.
