Even in the benign world of gardening there is a grave danger in making hasty pronouncements. (Which is pretty rich coming from someone who writes the back page in this magazine: a page which is often awash with – dare I say it? – prejudice, opinions and advice.) Mind you, it’s been going on a long time.
