Inside Crochet  |  Issue 118
The shift in seasons is truly upon us. From the balmy Indian summer days of September with sun-kissed skin and cool nights, come the crisp mornings with dew on the grass and the comforting aroma of pine and woodsmoke. And for the crocheter comes the promise of blankets on laps and light layers! This issue is dedicated to all of these things, especially the warm colour palette that the autumn equinox brings.
It's a perfect time to be outside, and there are projects galore for exploring the great outdoors, such as Victoria Haynes' Gather Basket and Rosina Northcott's cosy Forager's Shawl, plus crochet patterns to happily hook up in front of the TV such as Bianca Boonstra's sunset-hued Samhain Socks and Fran Morgan's striped Forest Tunic. There's something special about the colours of the falling leaves, and Sue Rawlinson has captured that perfectly with her granny stripe blanket, and the magic of the woods is alive in Tracey Todhunter's adorable amigurumi friends - a rather dapper badger and squirrel!
Here at Inside Crochet HQ we're really excited to be bringing you part two of Jane Crowfoot's stunning Climbing Rose CAL - the Anemone motif. Based on the flora of Victorian gardens and William Morris' timeless prints, it's simply beautiful. We're also excited because it's Yarndale time! We really hope to see some of you there at this festival of yarn and crochet, which is surrounded by the incredibly autumnal Yorkshire Dales landscape. So much inspiration to be had all around, and our very own Claire Montgomerie will be teaching workshops over the weekend.
Until then, happy hooking!
