1 MUMBAI
Make a grand entrance
The Gateway of India – a26m-high portal of Indo-Saracenic architecture, built in 1911 – dominates south Mumbai’s waterfront. It’s the entrance to this pulsating Indian city, and the exit to the Arabian Sea. Admire its detailed decoration, then drop to the jetty to board a ferry to Elephanta Island and view the arch from the waves.
2 LIVINGSTONE
Fall for majestic Mosi-oa-Tunya
Over 100m high, 1.7km wide and disgorging up to 500 million litres of water every minute, Victoria Falls, or Mosi-oa-Tunya (Sotho for ‘The Smoke that Thunders’), is the world’s largest waterfall. On the Zambian side, a walking trail crosses Knife Edge Bridge, probing spraydrenched forest to reach a viewpoint of the Eastern Cataracts.

Stroll the bustling boardwalks of this restored historic dockland and take your pick from dozens of restaurants.
