Patchwork and Quilting  |  APRIL 2013
'It is with deep sadness I have to report the death of Di Huck after a short illness. I have worked with Di ever since the first issue of Patchwork & Quilting that came out in the Autumn of 1985 and during that time I always enjoyed her unending enthusiasm for all things quilting. Not only did Di work tirelessly in creating a magazine that has become one of the most popular in its genre but she also ran her own travelling tours taking enthusiasts around the world to quilting exhibitions.
I am sure that all of our readers and people who knew Di will sorely miss her and we offer our sincere condolences to her family.'

For those with a passion for threads this month’s ‘Threaducation’ tells you about well known practitioners who pass on their knowledge. We also go travelling, to Canada for the safe return of a Canadian Red Cross Quilt, to the Mongolian Quilt Centre to find out the work of an extraordinary organisation and its founder. We also Meet Joan Fisher, who with her husband, John, is bringing one of the most exciting displays to the forthcoming Quilt Stitch Village at Uttoxeter (have you got your tickets yet?!) with the tentmakers of Cairo! And our front cover features the Stained Glass Tulip Cushion, an excellent appliqué style if getting those sharp points is a problem! Enjoy the issue.
