Patchwork and Quilting  |  November 2012
As our thoughts turn to the colder months ahead, we start to plan for the Xmas period, our favourite time of year! And to get you in the mood we have a couple of Christmas projects. Above the Rooftops is a delightful, fusible appliqué wall hanging that recreates the night before Christmas, and the Star Crossed Quilt, although Christmas inspired, could be used at any time of year and its technique has umpteen possibilities.
Our Calendar Quilt block features hand piecing and the Extra project is a hand pieced table runner. We have a Hand and Scarf set to help us brave the cold weather, and the Tea Party Quilt is a lovely fresh quilt to add a bit of brightness to the darker evenings.
There’s an update on the Rojo Rojo orphanage that touched many readers last month; we Meet Janet Bevan and visit Nature’s Threads in Let’s Go Shopping. Finally, there is an inspirational look at making a very special commission, The Story of a Fairy Story Quilt.
