Late May 2012 the Charles de Gaulle Carrier Strike Group (CSG) started a “Periode Entrainement Aero Navale”, also called PEAN. This edition, PEAN 12.1, was a six-week advanced training period of the CSG. It was mainly aimed at maintaining the operational level of the battle staff from French Maritime Force (FRMARFOR) based in Toulon and all the units of the CSG. Peter ter Berg reports.
