Having joined a Facebook group to gain more understanding of Asperger’s Syndrome, I encountered a young man being stressed out because of a sentence in a book he had written: a reader was being unkind about a small apparent error. I bought the book. A first for me - as normally, if people want me to review a book, they have to send it to me - and wow; it is a really great story. It got me thinking… if this boy has Asperger’s, it is likely that some of the story comes from his own mind and suffering.
He now lives in Estonia having become homeless when his family threw him out aged 15 because he was gay. Alexander has spent a lot of time working in Macdonald’s; as a volunteer for Oxfam; often sleeping in parks and on friends’ sofas… and he also likes to dress in femme clothes.
