Detective Inspector Harry Clayton, played by James Nesbitt, had a destructive gambling habit. But when he acquired a mysterious Chinese bracelet that confers good luck on the wearer, Harry’s fortunes appeared to be on the upturn and he went on a winning streak. But he realised the powers of the bracelet caused every positive event to be balanced out by a negative event and the benefits of the charm were soon outweighed by the damage done to Harry’s nearest and dearest by the evil Golding, who was desperate to possess it.
