ICY RUNS…
Our resident running mum Claire Chamberlain on the joys of getting her family outside for a jog
KEEP RUNNING, MUMMY!
Smiles in the snow (and it only took three hours to get out)
A ah, winter. Crisp, cold air; frost crunching underfoot; warm, cosy hats; the children laughing with delight at the ice that”s formed over puddles; a family winter walk; and warm hot chocolate snuggled on the sofa afterwards. Or at least, that is the plan.
For me and my gang, it usually goes more like this: My daughter refuses to wear warm tights because they”re “too fluffy”, or a thick winter jumper because it”s “NOT TWIRLY” (she will currently only wear dresses that flare out when she spins around); there will invariably be glove frustration from my son as he struggles to get the correct fingers into the correct holes; if I do manage to get them into hats, coats, boots and all-in-one waterproofs, someone will announce they need a wee seconds before we need to leave the house, resulting in the speedy removal of said hats, coats, boots and all-in-one waterproofs; and everyone is thoroughly stressed and/or crying before we”ve even opened the front door.
